The CU Denver MBA Vis team attended the Hong Kong Vis Moot from March 3 to March 9. Our team, the first American business school to attend the moot, finished 36th among the 51 law schools. The experience was, without a doubt, a priceless treasure for our four oralists. Those students who have been involved in the moot, from around the world, have consistently said that this moot competition was the most valuable, fun, and powerful experience during their academic careers. Our MBA students, although way out of their norm, performed admirably. They found the same lasting confidence and skills earned by the law students.
Having been to Vienna twice as an oralist, I can say that the Hong Kong moot provided the same amazing experience, and more. While the Vienna moot is attended by over 200 schools now, the Hong Kong moot is still somewhat small with just over 50 schools (as of this writing). It was much more intimate than the Vienna experience, with events fully sponsored by local law firms at incredible locations.
